A couple of days ago, my family and I were watching the new reality show on E! Network, Botched.
If you’ve never seen the show, it’s a series of one-hour episodes where patients with mishandled cosmetic procedure results are looking to have them corrected by two famous Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeons.
So as the family and I are watching each patients transformation — my dad falls asleep during the last ten minutes of the show (shocking, not really). The show ended and I turn the channel to MTV’s Catfish.
Catfish is another reality based program where Nev Schulman and Max Joseph help people find out the truth behind their online love interest.
As Catfish plays on the T.V. my dad wakes up and sees a guy sitting on a couch next to a heavier girl during an emotionally-charged scene where the long-distance lovers meet for the first time. My dad wakes up, sees the emotional scene playing out and asks “What procedure is she having done? Is she getting lipo?” (Took me a second to realize why he would say such a thing!)
The half asleep/half confused look on his face was priceless as I burst into a fit of laughter. Once I explained to him that we weren’t watching Botched anymore he immediately did the following:
- Felt bad for saying the girl needed lipo
- And joined me in laughing
