About WWYT?

As I journey through my late 20s I hope to inspire a generation to stop living life in the fast lane. To slow down and remember that you are the priority.

While careers, relationships, new gadgets, homes and adventures are great and are no doubt deemed important by a large population — there needs to be a focus on creating a balance in your life.

The way you can begin to create a balance in your life is to listen to your inner voice. To pause and listen to what you’ve been trying to bury deep down inside for years. The fears of inadequacy, the fear of intimacy, the boundaries you failed to set in your life, the feeling that you don’t deserve the best because someone told you that a long time ago and you believed it.

So instead of giving you a list of steps, I want to start with a question that I feel begs an answer that will jumpstart your journey, Who Were You Today?

Do you really know yourself? Do you know what you want? Do you know who you want in your life? Are you the person you want to be? The answer lies within but you’ve got to take the time to be still and feel. Feel the emotions that you’ve tried so hard to stuff down — way deep down. If you can bring those to the surface then you’re well on your way to unlocking all you want and deserve in life.

Follow me on my journey as I write about my past and uncover those emotions I’ve buried deep down for years. Along the way I’ll interview friends, family and community members about their own self-discovery. My hope is that you can take something away from anything I write — even if it’s just one quote or one word.

Feel free to write to me about your own experiences. I’d love to learn about you and what you’ve done to improve the way you feel about yourself.

Self exploration is a never-ending journey. Also, another good question to ask yourself is: Who was I yesterday? You can also learn about yourself in hindsight. It may not be pleasant, but it usually shows growth and that is something to be proud of. ; – )

    • Marcella,

You are absolutely correct. It is a never-ending journey. And I like your perspective. I chose Who Were You Today for a bit of comedic flair. We all know how it’s hard to even remember what we wore the day before, lol. Thank you so much for your comment — I truly appreciate it.

Well it’s not like me to miss a bit of comedy! I’ll blame it on the allergy pill I took last night! I love your title. Yessy, it’s hard for me to remember why I walked into another room for something, let alone what I wore the day before! Keep smiling ; – )

      • Don’t blame it on you, lol. It’s a little nugget of comedy for myself but if anyone were to question the title I would let them in on my little secret. Have a wonderful day!

OK, I won’t blame it on myself (see, you didn’t have to twist my arm). I blame myself for more than enough things already! lol! I can appreciate an “inside” joke. You have a wonderful day too!
